Little Sasha

We have made some changes to our herd and felt it was time to announce all the changes.  So many cute quilly faces.

Introducing Sasha - Sasha is our newest herd member.  She was born on September 18, 2011.  This was Sasha's moms first litter.  Gracie gave birth to one hoglet in her first litter and since we needed to replenish females, we have decided to keep Sasha.  Sasha has ruby red eyes and is Albino.  She is the spitting image of her father.  Since working with Sasha she has come to love the cupping position in my hand when first waking.  This I'm sure is due to being spoiled while cupped with one of her favourite  foods -- freeze dried mealworms.  In the evenings when I put out all of the night time treats for everyone, I give Sasha and a few other members also loving them, the worms and then place them back carefully into their hide a way houses to return to their slumber.  Sasha is an avid wheeler and I believe she is now up to the 2km run nightly lol.

I am certain that Sasha will be a great little mommy when the time arrives to begin breeding her with the gorgeous males within the herd.

Introducing Scooter - Scooter has lived up to him name.  Even before I had picked him up from the breeder where he was purchased, Scooter was aptly named before even knowing his personality.

It was not too long into owning Scooter that I realized he was a very active little hoglet, calm when ready to sleep, but wanting to go go go when he was ready.  He walks between my hands when we are trying to have a short bit of social time and when he thinks he has a shot at escape, he scoots as fast as he can to freedom LOL.

Scooter has started to stud with the new ladies in the herd, and he is an avid wheeler in his spare time LOL.

Until next time, "Stay Quilled"  The Hedgie Whisperers Team.
