Today I decided to converse about a pending birth from one of our breeders. Bristol "Aka Ms. Cranky Pants" and otherwise
affectionately known as "Ms. B_tchie", is about ready to give birth. If she follows her previous pattern of birth, I fully understand the enormous weight gain over the course of the past 8 to 10 days. This also gives rise to the reasons why she now has difficulty escaping the confines of her safe haven, or more affectionately known as her home/igloo. A trooper to the last day I'm sure...(and she is), she is still diligently exercising on her wheel and up until yesterday evening still has had a ferocious appetite!

Before I was a rolly polly! |
For the past few days when re-arranging the cyclone area she calls home LOL, she lets me know in no uncertain terms my presence isn't requested, but if I happen to leave a "Krill" or three, that she would ultimately forgive my intrusion. Her indigence to human intervention right now is holding strong as she heads into the home stretch of her gestation. Due this coming Friday Feb. 26, she is struggling to exit her igloo as she is now fully and conceivably (after gaining almost a full pound) with four more days yet to go, she is a complete Roley Polly.
Poor thing, every time I hear her hiss to protect the nest and jump to keep me at bay with her beloved Krill in toe, she needs to jump to let the igloo rest on her in her attempts to escape to her food and water and exercise wheel.
I'm certain that she will be one very happy Hedgie when the babes are born and she can slip out through her igloo door once again with her dignity in tact! LOL We love you Bristol!
