The baby hoglets are beginning to investigate the food kicked around the pen by Mom! LOL. During the normal routine of our Saturday scrub and shine of all cage items cage bottoms, litter pans, food dishes, exercise wheels and toys, the little one's were scrambling around their pens to see what Mom was up to! During the exploration they came across some awesome yummy finds... meal worms that Mom tossed out of the dish. Without much delay the little one picked it up in his mouth and ate it quickly before Mom saw.

It will only be a matter of time now before the babies will be weened from Mom and looking for caring loving owners to go home to. They are very friendly and happy babies and we have one who is especially good at climbing and practices from bottom to top of the pen and lands where he may. Of course, Mom is busy bouncing at the baby to discourage the behaviours, but the little one is just as determined to climb the rails even more. These three little guys were very interested in the metal watch wrist band I had on when hand taming them the other evening. It was a watch me "anoit" from this taming. They certainly loved the smell and even attempted to bite it and take it away with them LOL. The babies continue to be more fun as they are beginning to develop their personalities, each one of them so unique and cuddly. The hand taming is going well and each of them remains a calm nature and only a few being rough around the edges when first carried away from the pen for their one on one time with me for hand taming. Time to start setting up their new temporary homes in the new cage I bought to house the six males and five females until picked up by their new owners. Ad is placed on Kiijiji and the website has all the photo's of the babies. I will update the photo's as they become available. Little dickens are hard to photograph and just a little camera shy at this age. More news to come soon so "stay Quilled" lol.
